FLOCK: Interlocking Assemblies

FLOCK is an interactive, participatory version of the Fractals Workshop. This is a crowdsourced public art installation that grows incrementally over the duration of the event. FLOCK invites the participation of visitors from any background, age-group or skill level. Preset interlocking pieces are provided and there are a number of ways of assembling them together.

FLOCK involves many minds and many hands, and is unpredictable in its final form. The most interesting part of this experience is that it is non-repeatable, and gives a completely new, unpredictable form with every iteration, which is surprising even to previous participants.

FLOCK has been a part of the Street Nights street art festival in Dubai, Hyderabad Design Week at IKEA, Quoz Art Festival, Dubai and WADe Asia, New Delhi.

Previous iterations of FLOCK can be seen via these links:

FLOCK has been adapted as a design + build workshop at Kerala State Institute of Design, Kollam, and as a Directed Research Project at CEPT University.
